Contact State of Emergency
Corrections, questions, privacy requests and business enquiries — and what to do instead if this is an emergency.
What are you writing about?
Different requests need different handling, so we keep them separate rather than funnelling everything into one anonymous box.
Factual errors, outdated instructions, mischaracterized official-source information.
Include the page URL and, if you have it, the source that supports the correction.
Anything that is not a correction, a business request or a privacy request.
Commercial enquiries, sponsorships and partnership proposals.
Access, deletion, opt-out and other privacy requests.
Tell us which right you are exercising and the state you are writing from.
Legal notices, rights, permissions and copyright matters.
How to reach us
When the form is live, it will ask only for what is needed: your name, an email address to reply to, the topic, the page URL if relevant, and your message. Nothing more.
Reporting a factual error
Corrections take priority over everything else on this page. Three things make one fast to act on: the page URL, what specifically is wrong, and the source that supports the correction.
Our full process is in the Corrections Policy.
What to expect
We will not publish a response-time commitment we cannot keep. This is a small editorial operation, not a staffed support desk.
What we will say is how requests are prioritized. A reported safety-critical error comes first and is acted on as soon as it is confirmed. Other factual corrections follow. General questions and business enquiries are handled after those.
A reported error is either corrected or answered — including when we conclude the page was right, and explain why. It is not left unacknowledged.
What we will ask for, and what we will not
When a contact route is live, it will collect the minimum needed to reply: a name, an email address, the topic, the page URL where relevant, and your message.
- We will not ask for a postal address, a phone number or a date of birth.
- We will not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.
- We will not use your message for anything other than replying and improving the page it concerns.
- We will not sell or share it. There is nobody to sell it to.
Please do not send confidential, medical or otherwise sensitive personal information through a contact form. If a reply would require it, we will say so and suggest a better route.
This page is not an emergency channel
It is worth repeating in its own section, because contact pages are exactly where someone in trouble might look.
Messages sent here are not monitored continuously and cannot summon help. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency service. For active weather, follow the National Weather Service and your local emergency management agency.
